No longer green, but just as eco-conscious!

June 7th, 2010

As the etetra team has grown, we have decided to re-launch our website in its signature red, white and grey themes to keep in line with our existing branding.

For the last twelve months, the etetra website has focussed on our commitment to green marketing and was designed to emphasise this promise to our clients and our local and national communities. This was reflected with green colour schemes and an animated amphibian friend, inviting homepage visitors to read our “Going Green” policies, and information on our green audit.

“It’s not that easy being green”
While changing the colour themes for the etetra site is actually a relatively simple task for the team to undertake, having an eco-conscious vision is about much more. For etetra it has been about changing how we live and work, and about educating others to change their viewpoints for the good of the planet and local environment.

“The etetra team makes a special effort to go out and plant trees on land near Yarmouth to help create an ancient forest and offset carbon emissions used in printing processes and our general office use,” says Jenny Doyle, the new Managing Director. “We are always looking at ways to be ‘greener’ in marketing and everyday living to reflect this both for ourselves and our clients in any way possible.

“The change to our original brand colours in no way reduces our commitment to the environment.”

Keep up to date with all of the goings-on at etetra and the activity with our clients by following us on twitter, facebook, or joining our mailing list on the homepage.

125 Trees Planted

March 29th, 2010

On 16 March, the whole etetra team left their desks and computers to pick up spades and trowels for a day. The job was to plant 125 trees in a specially designated, 10-acre field in Yarmouth to offset the company’s carbon emissions produced since its formation in 2005.

We’ve had our whole operation subject to a green audit to evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of our business – and the 125 trees were the result.

Throughout the day, we had expert advice from environmentalist, Tony Ridd of Brighstone-based Landscape Therapy, who showed us how to plant the trees correctly, what to use for mulch and how to stake and protect the trees once they were planted.

If you’re interested in statistics, this is exactly what we planted:

10 English Oak
25 Ash
15 Wild Cherry
15 Silver Birch
15 Rowan
5 Crab Apple
40 Hazel

We’re also working with clients to help reduce their emissions and offset their carbon footprint by planting more trees in our field. If you’re a company that wants hard-hitting promotional material with practical green sensibilities – then give us a call.
