Recently, we've had our whole operation subject to a green audit to evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of our business. We also plan to offset the environmental cost of any client promotional material we produce. So, for example, if we print a thousand brochures, we’ll plant some trees to redress the balance.
On our website, we've installed the unique etetra Carbon Calculator, so you can automatically see how many trees we need to plant to offset your promotional activity.
We've also instigated the Communitree Project which will be rolled out nationally. The goal is to bring together charities, trusts, the community and local and national businesses to exchange skills, equipment and ideas to improve our environment. Here's just one example: By generating local sponsorship, we're aiming to provide schools on the Island with fully equipped polytunnels. These will act as environmental classrooms where children can plant and grow tree seedlings.
Once the trees are big enough, we'll re-plant them as part of our green 'offset' programme in a 10-acre field which has been donated to our cause.
